These are two results I had for my 200Tdi from its MOT emissions smoke test. The first test was completed when the vehicle was 16 years old and second when it was 18 years old. It had 202-207k miles for the tests.
The first test was conducted before I owned the vehicle and the second test was after I had given it a service, cleaned the intercooler and replaced filters, etc. The difference is quite incredible. In the first test it required all 6 accelerations to get the average of 3 accelerations required to came under the test limit of 3.00m-1. In the second test is attained a "fast pass" with the first acceleration coming under the 1.5m-1 fast pass test limit with a value of 1.44m-1.
