Fitting a Defender 110 rear anti roll bar

Not all Defenders came with rear anti-roll bars from the factory, and mine didn't. I think it was typically the County versions that did. I wanted to retrofit one to give more stability in the road handling. All Defenders have the chassis and axle brackets to allow this. All of the parts are easy to buy.

It all goes together in a straightforward way. I found putting the ball joint links into the axle first the easiest, then attaching the anti-roll bar to this and finally attaching the bar to the chassis brackets with the eight bolts and nuts.

Six years after fitting this anti-roll bar, one set of bushes failed the MOT and I had to replace them.
